Temple Beit HaYam’s Sisterhood is made up of women of all ages, bonded in friendship and action. There are just three qualifications for being part of Sisterhood: We are women, we support the values of Reform Judaism, and we support our Temple. Our programs, activities and fundraising efforts benefit our congregation and our community.

Members of Sisterhood are women who strive to put our Jewish ideals into action. We have a special concern for issues affecting women and families around the world. We collaborate with other branches of the Temple, such as the Social Action Committee, to make a difference in our community.

Of course, there is always time for fun, socializing and spirituality. Many of our events are just for the sake of spending time together. We recently started a Women’s Rosh Chodesh Group that meets monthly to discuss and explore issues of women’s spirituality. The Sisterhood also operates our Temple’s Judaica Shop. It is brimming with gifts for a bar or bat mitzvah, a bride and groom, anniversaries, and gifts for holidays, the home, and other special occasions. Come in and browse, or volunteer to work in the shop.Your Sisterhood Judaica Shop has the answers for your religious gifts and holiday celebrations. See our selection of candlesticks, tablecloths, challah covers, boards and knives, kiddush cups, kippot and apple and honey dishes.

To stay up-to-date with all of our upcoming events, make sure you sign up for the Sisterhood E-News List on the main page of the Temple website.

In Sisterhood, each member can decide her own level of participation. Through your financial support with dues and our fundraising efforts, you can make a difference. There are opportunities to become more involved in Sisterhood by taking on leadership positions. We offer you a chance to be part of something special and gain a sense of belonging.
